* Good control of Porina has been shown in pot trial
studies, the level of field resistance is still to be
confirmed.
‡ AR37 can cause ryegrass staggers in grazing
livestock. Research has shown AR37 staggers to be less
frequent, less severe and of shorter duration than standard
endophyte. Animal performance studies measuring liveweight
gain and milk production have not shown any reduction
in animal performance as a result of animals grazing
ryegrass with AR37 endophyte when compared to AR1 or
ryegrass without endophyte.
Endo5 – superior insect protection for tetraploid
ryegrass
Use Endo5 for superior insect protection in tetraploid
ryegrasses.
Ryegrass with Endo5 protects against a range of pasture
insect pests including Argentine Stem Weevil, Adult
Black Beetle and Pasture Mealy Bug. Farmers using tetraploid
ryegrass to improve animal productivity will choose
Endo5 to increase pasture persistence.

Endo5 insect protection for tetraploid ryegrass.
‡Endo5 produces low levels of ergovaline, that
may, under certain circumstances, reduce animal performance.
Ergovaline levels are highest in the crown of the plant
during summer and autumn. To minimise any adverse affects,
avoid prolonged set stocking, or grazing fresh regrowth
of such pastures during summer and autumn.
AR1 – the safer ryegrass endophyte
Ryegrass containing AR1 endophyte confers a high level
of animal safety while providing a moderate range of
insect protection.
- Benefits:
- Animal productivity equivalent to ryegrass without
endophyte and the novel endophyte AR37.
- Provides continual protection against Argentine
Stem Weevil and Pasture Mealy Bug.
- Does not produce lolitrem B or ergovaline, compounds
known to affect animal health and performance.
- Preferred option for farmers grazing horses and
deer.
